Maria Daskolia serves as a Professor in the Department of Educational Studies at the School of Philosophy at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She teaches courses on the “Theory and Practice of Environmental Education (EE) and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD)” at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

Dr. Daskolia has actively participated in various research projects at both the European and national levels. Her scholarly articles have appeared in reputable scientific journals, conference proceedings, and edited volumes. In addition, she is the author of the book “Theory and Practice in Environmental Education: The Personal Theories of Teachers”, published by Metaixmio.

Her research interests encompass the integration of digital technologies and tools in teaching and learning within EE and ESD. She focuses on fostering students' and broader community members' personal and collective expression, creativity, critical thinking, and engagement in environmental and sustainability initiatives.
