Maria Daskolia is an Associate Professor in the Department of Educational Studies of the School of Philosophy of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and Director of the Environmental Education Laboratory of the same faculty. She teaches undergraduate and postgraduate students Theory and Practice of Environmental Education (EE) and Education for Sustainable Development (ESD).

She is the scientific supervisor of the Environmental Education for Sustainability Studies Specilization of the Postgraduate Program "Theory, Practice and Evaluation of Educational Work" of the Department.

She has been involved in several research projects, both European and national.

Her articles have been published in scientific journals, in proceedings of international and Greek conferences and in collective volumes. She has authored a book entitled "Theory and Practice in Environmental Education. The Personal Theories of Teachers", which is published by “Metaixmio”.

Her research interests include the use of digital technologies and tools in teaching / learning in EE / ESD, aiming at students and other groups of the wider community developing personal and collective expression, creativity, critical thinking and the ability to act for the environment and sustainability.
